Chairman: Stephen Morley

‘Isn’t great to see the Park full again’ was said to me the other night up in Corduff park, and yes it is!

After almost five months of no football, we are back, and both our Junior and Senior sections are actively back training safely, So yes, it really is great after those long dark months of no training or football!

I want to officially welcome back all our members - players, parents and most importantly, our managers and volunteers, without whom we wouldn’t be such a great Club.

Our Junior section returned a few of weeks ago(April), and our Senior section came back last week(May), with lots of new faces looking to join the Corduff family. Our underage Saturday Academy also returned with lots of excited young kids returning, and some new ones too, where we had over 70 of our youngest most promising club players beginning on their football journey. (New members always welcome!)

It really is heartening to see such excitement as we look to get over this horrible year or so we have had, and I urge everyone, to maintain the safety protocols as long as they are in place.

I want to give you an update as to what has been happening this year to date, and to outline the Clubs vision for going forward:1

1. Corduff held our annual AGM online in March, and the Committee was re-elected with an addition of Jason Reid as our Senior Section representative.

2. Our Director of Football organised maintaining the on-going Manager FAI PDP Training Programme, with multiple online forums, as part of our plan to develop our coaches to the highest standard, and the uptake from managers on this was fantastic.

3. Our Committee processed multiple grant applications to Fingal, the Sports Council, and for the first time, with guidance from the FAI we applied for our first Sports Capital Grant

4. Our sponsors and our Love Local Sponsorship partners maintained their support commercially for teams and kit wear, and I want to thank them for their ongoing support. -

5. The plans for the new full size all-weather pitch at the Corduff Sports Centre (run by Fingal County Council) are being put in place with development due to begin soon. -

6. We have begun discussions with Fingal Co Co and local Government and Council Representatives about development of a dedicated Corduff FC Clubhouse in the Park

7. We are further developing our relationship with our LOI Partner Shamrock Rovers F.C and are introducing combined coaching programmes and Elite player development training academy programme, (Emerging Talent Programme) for players with a potential for progression to a higher level. We are also staging (has already taken place) a Shamrock Rovers Summer Camp at Corduff in July for 5 days of fun and football activity.

8. We are organising several Club invitational tournaments at Junior and Senior level from June, as part of our return to competitive football and pre-season preparations.

9. We have introduced an online Club Lotto to help support the fundraising for Club Development and I would like to thank participants to date on this, and ask for support on this going forward. It’s a great chance to win a few bob – if you’re not in you can win !

So, despite the forced break from football, there has been lots of activity going on, and from June we can really kick off and return to normality.

We have a vision to maintain Corduff F.C as the most progressive Club in Dublin 15 and beyond, and with your help to drive our success on and off the pitch, with the result that this vision will culminate within a couple of years when we secure our own Clubhouse at Corduff Park, with the best grass and artificial pitch facilities in the area.

Lastly, thanks again to all our members, the players, managers, volunteers, committee and sponsors. It is great to part of this great Club and Community. Stay safe, Up the Duff !

Yours sincerely

Steve Morley
